Responds to Bottle Feeding & Breastfeeding Challenges
- These natural nipples are round and soft to replicate the areola. During feeding, both the nipple and areola stretch together, promoting a correct latch-on so babies experience a similar feeling as they would during breastfeeding.
- Holes on the nipples are placed off-center to mimic the natural breastfeeding experience. This means the milk is released at various angles, not in a straight line.
- Babies must use extra suckling motion and pressure to start the milk flow, as they would during breastfeeding. Therefore, babies are active participants in the feeding process, controlling rather than reacting passively to milk flow.
- Also, the benefit of extra jaw movement/exercise encourages healthy oral development.
- The shape, length, and softness of the nipple is designed to avoid “bottle feeding tongue.” This may discourage nipple confusion and protect babies from inhaling extra air during feeding (with correct latch-on).
