The best thing about organic Primal Pit Paste deodorant is it actually works! Baking soda kills the bacteria that causes odor, and organic arrowroot powder helps you to feel dry while allowing you to still sweat and release toxins. These powders are mixed in a base of moisture rich and anti-microbial organic coconut oil and organic shea butter to soothe skin, along with organic beeswax to create stability.

Details

All Go Primal products are handcrafted from organic and natural ingredients. In fact, they're so natural you could eat the stuff (but we suggest rubbing it on your smelly pits, not your morning toast). While Pit Paste is not an antiperspirant, you wouldn't know it since it keeps you pretty dry.

That said, it's important to sweat and release toxins. Most deodorants and antiperspirants not only keep the toxins in by preventing you from sweating, they're also designed to absorb into the skin. And what are you absorbing? Oftentimes it's aluminum and parabens, just a few of the harmful chemicals linked to hormone disruption and cancer.

Application

  • Hold the open stick directly on your pit for a few seconds to allow your natutral body heat to soften up the paste. This ensures a smoother, more consistent application. 2 or 3 swipes with the stick on each pit should work great.
  • Because the organic nature of coconut oil is to melt at certain temperatures it can become liquid when exposed to extreme heat. All it takes is a quick pop in the fridge or freezer to firm back up to paste consistency to remain that way in your bathroom cabinet.
  • Best if used within 12 months after opening.

Converting to Natural

While some people may have detox reactions or a sensitivity to baking soda, we believe most people can work through it. Here are some quick tips:

  • Irritation ~ Baking soda can be a skin irritant to some, and while most people can work through it everyone’s body chemistry is different. If it's just not working out for you, or in case of severe reaction, discontinue use.
  • Shaving ~ Usually if burning occurs it's associated with the salt-like nature of baking soda. Our suggestion is to shave at night and apply Pit Paste in the morning. It can eventually go away as your body acclimates to the pH balancing as you wean off traditional antiperspirants and deodorants.
  • Pit Detox ~ After years of wearing conventional chemical and aluminum-laden deodorants, it's possible to need to detox your pits from toxic build-up. Pure Essential Oils ~ No fragrances here! There is a big difference. These essential oils smell nice when you first apply Primal Pit Paste, but the scent fades so other body scents you use won't be affected. Only 100% organic or wildcrafted essential oils are used (wildcrafted when organic is not available), never any synthetic chemical fragrance.


Primal Pit Paste was born from Amy Cazin's quest to find natural and safe personal care products for her family to use ~ that actually work! Her mission became finding a product she felt was safe enough for her daughter to use, as she didn’t want to put toxic chemicals on her young child. However, she was never able to find a natural alternative that actually worked. Other parents were just as concerned about the chemicals in ordinary personal care products but felt the natural products they'd been using weren't very effective.

With all the information out there about toxic chemicals in our food, it's become clear that what we put on our skin is just as important as what we eat. Parabens and aluminums in deodorant, in particular, are becoming increasingly suspect in regards to cancer (specifically breast).
